The new Ford Edge has gotten a lot of praise from dealers, customers, and critics over the months since its release, and we’re thrilled to offer it in our showroom at Van Horn Ford of Oconomowoc. That said, drivers throughout the Hartford area have been curious as to how this Ford SUV compares against some of its leading competitors.
2020 Nissan Manuro vs 2020 Ford Edge
At the top of the competition to the Ford Edge is the new Nissan Murano. It’s a vehicle that attempts to be sporty, fun, and utilitarian, but misses the mark in a few areas. Nissan made a smart move by pairing all models with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that makes 260 horsepower and uses a front-wheel drivetrain to propel forward. However, the clunky CVT can hold back the overall performance of this SUV, making the ride feel rather sluggish.
Compare the Nissan Murano to the Ford Edge in terms of performance, and you can see what we mean by lackluster performance. The base model of the Ford Edge is powered by a 250-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder, which is far punchier than what’s offered in the Nissan Murano even though it offers lesser horsepower, and thanks to the 8-speed automatic transmission tucked inside. There is also a larger powertrain available in the Ford Edge, in the form of a 2.7-liter V6 engine that comes standard with all-wheel drive and puts out 335 horsepower to deliver a high performance crossover performance.
While the 2020 Ford Edge may not offer a large engine at the start, size doesn’t always matter. The 2020 Ford Edge is an incredible SUV that you can experience first-hand here at Van Horn Ford of Oconomowoc, where our Ford dealers make your satisfaction their top goal.
